| CONGRATULATIONS NATALIE! - Sunday, 25 November 2007 19:50 EST |
Idol turned on a big night at The Opera House Sunday night for the finale. The final 12 returned to perform together, with a surprise appearance by Lionel Ritchie! At 10:30pm they announced the winner of the final votes - Natalie! She was stunned and asked James if he was sure! Obviously Natalie was a little surprised! Matt took the news well and congratulated Natalie on being a talented performer. As the judges said - there is no loser really. Both singers will launch their professional careers from this success.

| THE FINAL VOTE! - Tuesday, 20 November 2007 18:48 EST |
| Sunday night saw Natalie and Matt peform against each other for the final time. They both sang the Idol single and two other songs of their own choice. It was a relief to hear them sing without any judges comments afterwards. Great to let their performances stand alone and be judged by the public independently. Betting sites are backing Matt as the hot favourite, but Natalie is still a strong contender. And (pardon the pun) the game isn't over until the fat lady sings! Plan your Idol party now and good luck for your final guesses!

| NATALIE AND MATT ARE FINALISTS! - Tuesday, 13 November 2007 5:55 EST |
| ...and Carl goes home. Carl was a very gracious loser on Monday night, congratulating the others and thanking the judges for their support. He did well to make it to the final 3, demonstrating amazing growth over the weeks. Natalie and Matt looked delighted and stunned as their names were announced as the final two. We look forward to seeing them at the Opera House! Good luck making your final pick! ENJOY your Idol finals party!

| Marty is Put Out of His Misery! - Sunday, 11 November 2007 3:32 EST |
| Finally! The viewing public decided to put Marty out of his misery and sent him home last Sunday. Quite amazing that Marty lasted so long, he must have had a good fan base out there. So it will be interesting to see what happens with his career next. Will Dicko champion him, make introductions and create opportunities for Marty professionally? Now we have 3 left - Carl, Natalie and Matt. Who will make it to the Opera House? ....

| Big Band Night A Blast! - Sunday, 04 November 2007 6:25 EST |
| Tonight saw the Idols sing in front of a big band. It was a very entertaining evening, with most contestants getting into the swing, so to speak! Carl was in his element and charmed the audience with his style. Matt stepped into the big band mood and demonstrated his 'chameleon' skill - being able to adapt to any genre well. Natalie shone through both songs, gaining a touchdown for her performance. And Marty missed the boat, by not really singing in the style at all (why would you try The Doors on big band night??). The judges all seemed pretty happy tonight, which made for a very upbeat evening! Who will get the votes this week? Who have you picked to win your comp and do they have a chance now??

| Tarisai Heads Home! - Tuesday, 30 October 2007 0:46 EDT |
| After a week of media scrutiny about her 'fake-ness' Tarisai was voted off the show. Also in the bottom three were Natalie and Marty. Given the recent debate about Tarisai's personality on stage, it was no surprise that she lost votes. Despite her incredible singing talent, the fans were not convinced about Tarisai's authenticity. Just goes to show that the Australian Idol has to be more than just a voice! Which maybe explains why Marty is still in the running. What will happen next week? Who will be the final two standing at the Opera House??!! See you next Sunday as Idol unfolds!

| Aussie Hits Night a Winner! - Sunday, 28 October 2007 8:10 EDT |
| Who knew there were so many good Aussie songs? The Idols covered some great Aussie classics tonight. Matt launched the night with a piano solo of "20 Good Reasons" which was simple and stunning (although he felt he wasn't playing properly). Natalie also played (& stood on!) the grand piano with a Divinyls song, scoring a touchdown for her performance. Marty followed with Powderfinger's "These Days" which seemed to go on for days. Tarisai sang The Veronica's in an attempt to show her true personality, then got slammed for being fake. Is it just me - or is Tarisai a little slow on the uptake and just doesn't 'get' the judges comments? Finally Carl closed the show with LRB! A very nice performance overall! Who will go this week?? Hard to say as the field narrows! Soon there will be more judges than contestants!

| Farewell Daniel! - Monday, 22 October 2007 17:34 EDT |
| The bottom three on Monday night were Tarisai, Marty and Daniel. Viewer votes determined that Daniel's time was up and he was sent home. The couch is looking a bit lonely now - only 5 contestants left!! Tune in next Sunday for 'Aussie Gold' night. Who knows what this will bring!? Have you started planning an Idol Finals Party? Or a prize for the winner of your comp??...Have fun!

| Judges' Choice Night a Winner! - Sunday, 21 October 2007 8:04 EDT |
Tonight each contestant sang two songs - one chosen by the judges and one of their own choice. It was a recipe for success with no less than 3 touchdowns! These were for Matt, Carl and Natalie. Tarisai started the night with a Barry White disco number, which was entertaining (but I think her voice was a bit strained tonight). Marty reggaed away with a Bob Marley hit that suited his laid-back style. Daniel covered Sting in a very genuine but boring manner. Matt got a touchdown for rising to Mark's challenge to do a Phantom of the Opera song. Matt showed a depth and vocal range that was surprising for his age. Natalie sang "Nothing Compares" in a heartfelt show of emotion (apparently she just had a break up) to gain a touchdown. And Carl covered a Tom Jones song in a very smooth and suave way - scoring a touchdown for his efforts! The contestants' choices were generally good - giving viewers a great chance to see the singers at their best. Picking the bottom 3 will be tricky this week! Good luck!!

| BYE TO BABY BEN! - Tuesday, 16 October 2007 5:01 EDT |
| The bottom 3 were a surprise this Monday - Ben, Matt and Marty! In the end Ben was eliminated. He seemed pretty upbeat and assured viewers that this was not the end of his career. At 16, it seems that Ben can only get better and I am sure we'll see some of his creative work in the future. We are now left with 4 guys and 2 girls: Daniel, Matt, Carl, Marty, Natalie and Tarisai. Now the competition is really getting serious! See you Sunday night for the judges song choices - at least they can't complain about the song selection next week!
